Today, "issues of agriculture, countryside and farmers" are becoming important problems of China, which will affect the whole nation's development. The solution of the problem calls for the common concern and participation of the whole society. As one of the propelling powers for modernization, the mass media has the responsibility, obligation, as well as the ability to join in the process.The mass media's reports on the "three dimensional rural issues" will help solve these problems. A scientific measurement of this function is the premise and basis to improve and reinforce the media's function in the settlement of the "three dimensional rural issues". It is of great significance to establish a indicator system for evaluating the media's function in the "three dimensional rural issues", which is the basis to scientifically measure and correctly evaluate the role of the media on the issues, as well as the force to maximize the media's function.The essay is based on such a indicator system with the purpose of quantitating a number of indicators of the system. Absorbing the knowledge referring such field as communication, sociology, statistics, mathematical modeling and so on, the essay builds up three models applying the concept and method of modeling study, that is the Fitting Model, the Corner Equilibrium Model and the Audience Threshold Model.The Fitting Model is to check whether and in which extend the media's reports on the "three dimensional rural issues" accord with the reality.The Corner Equilibrium Model is to examine whether the media reflect the reality of "three dimensional rural issues" in an overall and balanced way. Meanwhile this model can help the media reasonably distribute its limited resources and better its function.The Audience Threshold Model is to measure the audience's subjective evaluation of the media. The model is constituted with two subjective indicators: the audience's satisfaction and the audience's expectation. The audience threshold will be obtained by the multiplication of the value of satisfaction and expectation.
