Design And Implementation Of The Campus Information Network

Campus-wide network is a key part in colleges and universities. It symbolizes the level running a school, and the image and position of a school. With the development of higher education and scientific research network, most colleges place great emphasis on the campus-wide network construction in order to quicken the speed of the network construction. To realize information-based campus, the network construction is the foundation; resource construction is the core; teaching is the goal; and management system is the guarantee. The campus-wide network has produced good results in Sichuan electromechanical institute of vocation and technology within these few years. To keep up with the pace of the rapid changing network technology and the growth of teaching requirement, it is significant and imperative under the situation that to create a brand new and efficient campus-wide network platform and to provide a better network environment.This article discusses the main idea of designing campus-wide network and describes the process of programming the whole campus-wide network which is established in terms of the principle of advantage, practicability, regularization and economy. On the base of analyzing the defect of the campus-wide network, bring forward a specific project of reforming. The teaching management system of campus-wide network is discussed, too.J2EE is adopted in developing the information management system of the campus-wide network, so the client server can browse the net as long as the browser is installed. JBOSS Web is introduced in application server system and SQL SERVER2000 in database server system.
