| As the process of transformation from analog TV to digital TV, more and more citizens contacted with digital TV technology. Set-top-box (STB) had made a key role in this process. In 2006, 25 million STBs were made in China, and a large number of them will be made in next few years. LSI AVIA-9700, which is very popular during 2005-2006, is one of the low-cost STB solutions. It has a lot of customers in DVB-T market. Research and realization on extend functions in digital STB is significant to put forward digital TV's development.Based on LSI AVIA-9700 STB solution, this dissertation made a deeply understanding on this solution and specific technology. Meanwhile, Picture-In-Picture (PIP) function on single tuner, Conax and TsingHua Novel-TongFang Conditional Access (CA) system function, STB's smart card interface for CAs were also provided in this dissertation.The main work are as follows:First of all, LSI AVIA-9700 chip and STB solution structure were researched and studied. Using VxWorks embedded Real-time operation system (RTOS) to implement STB function design was also introduced.After that, MPEG-2 standard was researched and studied. PIP implement method using single tuner was provided, which allow two video program be broadcast in one frequency. It provided a new method to watch one program when tail another program. While provided a new method of data process, from get video data, process data to show composed picture.After that, CA receive technology was researched and studied, Conax CA system (CAS) was ported on DVB-T and TsingHua Novel-TongFang CAS was ported on DVB-C based on LSI AVIA-9700 STB solution.Meanwhile, in order to satisfy need of smart card in CAS, smart card interface for the solution was supplied, which can support three kind of smart card protocols, such as T=0, T=1 defined in ISO7816 and Irdeto T=14 proprietary protocol. Almost digital TV smart cards were using these three protocols. Especially for Irdeto T=14 protocol, develop board should be revised. Control and communication of smart card were implemented by chip's General Purpose IOs (GPIO). |
