More and more automobiles have been bought by general families. In order to recovery processing those coming's scrap of automobile in 10-20 years and enhancing the capability of mechanization to recycled them, it is significative to foreseeingly study the shredding mechanics of scrap steel plates. The Virtual Manufacturing is the most vitality digital technology. It is the essential realization of the actuality manufacturing in the computer.It can reduce the researchful cost and shorten the cycle of the study to apply virtual manufacturing.Some micro-and macromechanism of metal fracture and some basic theory about Virtual Manufacture technology are introduced in the paper, and the Virtual Manufacturing technology is used during the research of fracture mechanics that automobile recovery steel plate; theory about large deformation and the mechanism of nonlinear material and the basic principle of contact-impact algorithm and non-linear finite element algorithm are mentioned in this text; the method of how to use the engineering software of ANSYS/ LS-DYNA is explaining.The shredding test of steel-plate of scrap automobile has been finished by restructuring the original 58.84/29.42 J impact-testing machine, and setting up the model of the entity in computer. The mass and velocity at that time of impacting and impact-work of impacting hammer has been obtained by the digital model. Making use of the ANSYS/LS-DYNA software to simulate the situation of experiment and attaining the simulation result by the postprocesser program of ANSYS has found a reliable analysis method. The steel plate fracture model is established according to the structure of bodywork and the disposal procedure of scrap automobile; the value affected the fracture result is been given in a range; they are simulated using ANSYS/LS-DYNA program; the correlative result is achieved.The research show that the result of simulation is approaching to the result of experiment, which indicate using the same method to model the fracture mechanism of the steel plate of scrap automobile is feasible. it is drawn a conclusion that the effect of fracture is better along with the increasing of impact-work's and strain rate, that is to said the area of the impact fracture is largen; the area of the impact fracture is diminished along with thespherical radius of the hammer is bigger; the fracture construct is more flexible when the distance between the impact point and the bearing surface is increasing, so the capability of shred is weakened; the angular rigidity is diminished with lessening the material huge, but the energy expending to fracture is decreasing, so the area of the impact fracture is firstly increasing and then decreasing. The effect of fracture is obviously affected by the velocity of hammer and the distance of between impact point and support point, the effect of the sphericity radius is large after one value, and the hammer mass is light.It has practicality to research the fracture mechanism of steel-plate of scrap automobile with Virtual Manufacture technology, which can make reference to the future's study.
