In modern war, electro-optical (E/O) countermeasure with the main part of information war is acting more and more important role. The research of the simulation of E/O countermeasure system implies importance because it can reduce the development cost and risk and provide the reference for demonstration and combat application. However, as the continuous development of E/O countermeasure technology and the constant enhancement of warning method and jamming resource, the higher requirement for the reusability of the simulation system is expressed. The traditional and the simple simulation modes have not met the requirement, so it is necessary to conduct the research of simulation for high level E/O countermeasure combat system. In this article, the HLA (High Level Architecture) technology is applied to the simulation of E/O countermeasure system. As the architectural system is of favorable expansibility, realizability and reusability, it can provide the advanced support platform for the demonstration and combat application. The main results of the research are shown as follows:1.The HLA E/O countermeasure simulation, based on the traditional and the simple simulation modes, is provided to solve the problem of un-reusability in the traditional simulation modes. Firstly, the main content and technical essence of the HLA are discussed, and the Federation Conceptual Model, the Federation Development Process, the Federation Design and Operation Flow are researched based on FEDEP (Federation Development and Execute Process Model). The analysis for the E/O countermeasure system and the design for system architecture are conducted and the composition of the simulation system is determined. The object model of the simulation system is set, the federation member is classified and the federation is designed.2. The dynamic and the kinematic models of the missiles and the aircrafts are researched and set. The energy database of IR radiation energy and radar reflection area energy of the aircraft is set. The kinematic model of the decoy and the radiation energy database of the decoy are set. According to the principle of E/O countermeasure and the model set, the simulation model is verified.3.
