The system structure of embedded Operating System-Windows CE has been introduced, which include kernel, file system and Graphics Windows and Event Subsystem.The real-time property of Windows CE has been deeply analyzed. Multiform communication methods under Windows CE have been researched, which include serial port communication and network communication. Further more, the method of how to develop an embedded real-time system on Windows CE has been researched, and a conclusion is drawn that developing an embedded real-time system on Windows CE has a bright future.Data Acquisition and Processing System on Windows CE is a necessary part of Intellectualized Inspection Predictable Maintaining System (Details refer to preface of the paper). The hardware and software solution of Data Acquisition and Processing System on Windows CE have been put forward. The main fuction of this system is: collecting data of displacement, velocity and acceleration; saving data; showing real-time wave; analizing frequency spectrum; send data to workstation. Main parts of hardware are a panel PC with Windows CE operating system and PCM-3718H. The programming tool is embedded Visual C++ 3.0. The software design uses some technologies supported by Windows CE, which are multithreading, real-time, network communication and Graphics and User Interface etc. Development of Data Acquisition and Processing System on Windows CE is a new trying in the field of Data Acquisition and Processing. The system has friendly interface, dependable capability, high-rate acquisition and software extensibility.
