Based Storage Area Network Management Software Research And Development

With the high speed developing in the science and technology of the computer, the Internet technology has been used by extensive people. Thereby, people are brought into the information times. Meanwhile, people also have higher request for higher speed handle and more great storage. The data storage field is developing in reply of lower cost, high reliability, high capacity, and high applicability.How effective to carry out the data back-up and the data disaster recovery has became an important problem which needs to be solved in storage field. For instance, electronic commerce and so on, it needs that the application program uses the data in 7X24.Because of these questions, the author has still worked in the research of SAN since 2004, and joined the group to develop the control manager software based on SAN. The project adopts the C/S structure, holds two part of client and server.The server has some composition such as guarding, the back-up and the restore module and so on.The manager system can run in windows, unix and linux system platform. The process of developing is carried out strictly according to the software engineering standard, and has passed designing, coding and testing.In the process of development, the author has participated in the development of disk back-up and restoration software which is a important part of server.After the completion of the project, the author attained some results as follows:1. Summarized the structure and module's functions of server in SRCM.2. Put forward the concept "immediate replicate" in replication function design. Solved the problems about the slow of recovery and increased the rate of recovery.3. Designed the replication manager module's function and given the system analysis.Given the design methods of REM.To reduce the information from hardware, using the shared memory.Given the priority of request and control methods.4. Analysised the system's Advantages and Shortcomings.The thesis has summarized SAN and back-up technique at first, and sums up the software of storage resource control manager.finally, it detailly introduce and discuss the function and design for the REM.
