Research Of SAN Manager System--Design And Implement Of Backup System Based On SAN

With the development of information society, especially along with the growth of the Internet, the amount of data increases just like exploration. A fundamental change takes place in the data format based on the explosive gain of business information, E-business and other contents in Internet. Audio, video and image data have been gradually combined with the traditional text and digital data. The contents needed to be stored expand so rapidly that it requires more and more storage service. On the other hand, applications on Internet require the data should be available during every time. Lastly the management on data storage, variety of data, distribution in different places, the protection for important data needs advancing.The traditional storage system (DAS) can't meet the need of the requirement on good dependability, expandability and security for Enterprise user, so the new storage system SAN emerges as the times require. Most of SAN systems use hardware redundancy, RAID and hot backup technology to improve the dependability of storage data, which is characterized by great capacity , expandability and so forth and can suffice the data storage for enterprises, so it is widely adopted in banks,IDC,ISP and so on.In the following years, Storage technology should be a remarkable market, larger and larger data need storage device to provide the capability of quickness access, dynamic update and adjusting storage property. And the storage requires more and more on security and expandability and performance. SAN can be quite suitable for the requirement mentioned above. I had taken part in design and coding of SAN software, rom where I had learnt and studied a lot about SAN technologies, especially done a further study about how to use SAN to strengthen the security and usability for data and how to get build-up of the capability of backup and data management.
