The author has taken part in the design of 32 bit embedded RISC microprocessor "Longtium R2" which is based on Research Project of Avation Microelectronic Center, who mainly in charge of the verification of BIU (Bus Interface Unit) and the design of FPGA prototype platform. This paper mainly discuses the design and verification of embedded SoC based on "Longtium R2".The research work of this dissertation includes:1. Basing on the deep research of the I/O system of VxWorks operationg system, especially discuss the input and output function and also analyze the interrupt system of Vxworks operating system.2. Analyzing all the important functional module of MPC107, also Basing on both the software requirement and the verification platform the frame of the SoC has been presented. Using Top-Down design method the processor interface unit (PIU) , SRAM controller, embedded programmable interrupt controller (EPIC) and UART series port controller have been accomplished.3. Basing on the thorough studies of current verification strategies, the dissertation presents the method of simulation verification environment based on application program, which accomplishes the simulation of SoC effectively. Meanwhile finishes the synthesis of the SoC.4. The test based on FPGA prototype shows that "Longtium R2" can run successfully monitor program, and VxWorks operating system.The"Longtium R2" microprocessor is completely compatible with PowerPC 750 in interface and instruction sets, which is the core of the SoC. For some actual applition circumstances, like this, which want to build SoC based on RISC microprocessor, the design and verification method discussed in this paper also goes well.
