Radio reconnaissance is an important application's brance of the radio and electronic science and technology, it plays a critical role in civil and in military field. Especially in the military communication system, radio reconnaissance is a bright'electronic eyes'. With the wide application of the frequency-hopping communication system, it's necessary to detect the frequency-hopping signal of the enemy. Because of the software's tendency of the radio information system. It can be anticipate of that broadband, comprehensive, digital and software direction is the future of the electronic reconnaissance. For these reasons above this subject has completed the research and development of the frequency-hopping signal processor based on the technology of FPGA.This subject has been analyzed the general theory of digital signal processing, and selected the muti-rate digital signal processing and FFT spectrum analysis for the theoretical basis. The next step was to select the suitable hardware platform, and to realize the needed frequency-hopping signal processor. We have adopted the Top-down design flow to perform system designing and budgeting, setting the system clock and its running mode. The function, timing and interface mode of each module were also set. We used VHDL and the FFT IP (Intellectual Property) core of Xilinx to design and simulate each module in ISE and ModelSim. We used ISE to connect each module, and to complete the FPGA program design, implementation, simulation and timing analyze of the whole system. Finally we converted design file to a downloadable format. During establishment of the hardware system, this subject has given guides for the selection of FPGA and PROM, and determined the configuration mode of PROM. It was necessary to design the power allocation scheme properly, as to fulfill the multi voltage requirements of FPGA and PROM. At last, associating with the project requirements we strict tested the soft ware and hardware of the system and then given the procedure and results of the test.This subject used ISE from Xilinx and ModelSim from Mentor Graphics to perform the design and simulation of FPGA programs; selected the Spartan-3 series FPGA (XC3S1500) from Xilinx as the target device, and XCF08P from Xilinx as the program memory. It achieved the design objectives finally. The conclusion gives perspectives of the optimization and development work in the future.In recent years it has made big progress in the research of hop-frequency detect and algorithm, mostly that building on the base of unreal-time processing or expensive and big volume multi-receiver analogue system. Compare with other system that has similar function, our system accomplished the digital and software of the hop-frequency process, decreased the cost of the system, it made the possible for the system's miniaturization and multi-function.
