HSUPA is a new kind of radio access technology in 3GPP Release 6, for the improving of uplink bit rate and system capacity.A new enhanced uplink channel E-DCH with extremely low spreading factor is applied in HSUPA. The performance of uplink receiver will decline because of weak partial autocorrelation of scrambling code and low spreading gain, and the conventional RAKE receiver can not deal with multi-path interference effctively. So, a kind of improved RAKE receiver combining interference cancellation is put forward, which can eliminate ISI and recover the orthogonality of multi-code channel. The main studies are shown as follows:(1) The algorithm of RAKE receiver in WCDMA R99 is discussed.Three key technologies including multi-path monitor , channel estimation and multi-path combination are discussed in detail, with the deriving of formula and simulating of algorithm.(2) The architecture of an improved RAKE receiver combining interference cancellation is presented. The design model and key algorithms of the improved RAKE receiver are discussed in detail.(3) The performance of several kinds of uplink receivers is simulated and compared. The simulation platform and steps are presented, and several algorithms are simulated in MATLAB. The simulation results show that the improved RAKE receiver has a better performance.
