With the development of computer technology, embedded-system application is becoming more and more popular and covering from daily life to industrial area. But there are some problems in the development of embedded-system. For instance, the traditional development method reduces the efficiency of developing, and software development and hardware development contain each other. The unconventional activities caused by the hardware interference have seriously affected the debugging and testing of software, which makes the quality of software hard to be guaranteed with the delay in developing process, while simulation development is an effective method to break away from the mess. Simulation technology is utilized to simulate the real running of embedded hardware system to enable the software development and system integration to be implemented on a virtual stage, so as to complete verifying the system model and analyzing the running activity before manufacturing the hardware prototype, which can avoid the mutual wait between the software development and hardware development, improve the development efficiency and lower the risks and costs.Due to the increasing complexity and diversification of the object hardware system, a development platform of embedded simulation which can be reusable, under ideal conditions, should be provided during the development of embedded software. Since the software system on the basis of component technology has been provided with a highly reusable performance, structural technology is introduced in the construction of simulation system for hardware platform. The abstract and design of component model is the key for implementing structurization. The separate components will be assembled together as a certain type to construct a whole system, which is made good expansibility by the dynamic integration mode.Event-driven is a commonly used mode among technologies of software simulation. In this dissertatoin, the whole MCU simulation is designed according to the two aspects of function verification and cycle-accurate behavioral simulation. The latter is required to implement the pipeline-level simulation of system.The core of development platform of embedded simulation is the MCU model. The complex logic of MCU, especially the implementation of cycle-accurate and cycle-synchronized simulation, is the matter of software simulation. To realize the requirement of cycle-accurate simulation, the working has to be changed from the parallel mode of hardware pipeline to serial mode in software simulation, and the synchronization of SoC and other components has to be settled. The dissertation issues a cycle synchronization mode based on pipeline, which makes all components synchronized on the virtual clock of run-time environment, and submits a general MCU simulation model with studying the model structure and working principle. According to the model it implements the simulation of MCU based on Arm9 core.
