This measuring technique based on visual sensor offers high anti-interference, high efficiency and simple composition. It is suitable for on-line non-contact supervision of production process.In modernize productive process, the speed of produce is more quickly the quality control is stricter. At tobacco enterprise, the checkout method is still traditional although the packing process has adopted automatic production. This outmoded method can't be fit in with tobacco produce. The tobacco packing quality is about the credit standing of an enterprise. Meanwhile, if the bad packing tobacco is sent back by customer, the enterprise definitely would increase produce cost. With the development of computer technology and machine vision theory, it is possible for the enterprises to check every tobacco packing with machine vision technology.This thesis gives an advice to solve tobacco pack based on PC-Base machine vision after analyzing the international way of tobacco pack checking.Based on the machine vision technique, the thesis set forth the working principle, the whole structure and the workflow relevant to detect system. At the same time, by contrasting the qualities of different hardware, the article analysis how to choose industry camera, frame grabber, lamp-house and how to use image process in tobacco pack checking.In the thesis, based on the development platform of VC++6.0 software , designing and developing a sort of quality checking system of cigarette packet's presentation, which integrated the modules of edge segmentation .template matching, grayscale analysis and binary conversion. This system can detect the qualities of the cigarette packet online and removing the imperfect products produced by Compas pack machine.After a series of testing to the system, the author drawn the conclusion that the system can offer effective detection because of having the characteristics of high-speed, efficiency and good stability. Now, the system has been applied in Yu-xi Hong-ta factory and produced good result.
