GPS simulator, is the apparatus which can simulates the every signal received by GPS receiver, and provide the environment in it the GPS receiver can be researched,explored and tested. At same time, it can be used in system GPS simulation to make sure the test subsequence is right. It's very important in both field whatever civil or military. Oversea, it's researched so clealy, but so expensive, the kernel is banged to outside; In civil, there are so many agents engage in the research of GPS receiver, some of them devote human source and money on GPS simulator as well, but there is no commercial output in market. So it's necessary to research GPS simulator with independent property right.The author participates in the project in which the Research Institute of Electronic Science and Technology University of Electronic Science and Technology of China provide the GPS receiver for some department. Mainly, the author engage in GPS simulator,code tracking,BCH decoding etc and finish the design of FPGA program,test,modify and DSP design with cooperation. But, it relate to the secret of military, so the parameter has replaced by GPS parameter in case the secret is let out.At first, introduce the background knowledge about spread spectrum communication, then summarize the function of spread spectrum communication in GPS, and signal style etc. Explain the GPS simulator and system frame in detail. Subsequently, introduce how to realize the design of FPGA,C/A code generator,code clock generator mainly. As well, the part about interaction between FPGA and DSP, function realization,hardware design,address distribution,interface design and software flow are involved in particular.
