The technique of MMW active/passive combined detection can greatly improve the performance of target identification by combining MMW radiometer with radar, because it can fully make use of the distance information and the radiation characteristic of target. The technique of combined detection is a trend in the detection methods of MMW.In this paper, it shows how the detector works in the 3mm MMW, discuss some important parameters of the detector and present the requirement of the target identification system. Based on the DSP of TMS320VC5410, we complete the design of the identification system, use the THS1030 and AD7470 to sample the echoes of active and passive, store the program code in the flash of SST39LF200A and realize the boot loader of the system.We research the characteristic of MMW active/passive echoes. The arithmetic of measure distance by radar and target identification by radiometer is brought forward. The development of system software is finished, which contains the modules of measure and target identification. Some code is given, which is used in the system software development.
