| With the progress of information technology and the improvement of people's standard of living, digital TV (DTV) and Internet is stepping into more and more families. STB is an important receiving-equipment in the interim from simulative TV to digital TV. How to provide Internet-Service with STB is a hotspot in many companies. In this paper, the basic concepts of digital TV are introduced firstly. Then, the concepts of IPTV and its developing status are introduced. The emphasis of our research is the hardware and software design of the IPTV system, including the concepts of the Embedded System and an open source TCP/IP stack LwIP. Based on these researches, a blue print of an IP-STB, the LwIP TCP/IP stack and the work of porting it to STB are introduced. At the end of this paper, as an application of the IP-STB, a VOD System is presented. |
