With the rapid development of communication and Internet technology, the scope of Internet construction has been extended and its construction speed has been accelerated. However, due to certain historical reasons and some factors in management, there exists a serious waste in IPv4 address resources. For the purpose of raising the application efficiency of IP address resources and improving the management and security of the Internet, the present thesis deals with the research and development of an Internet management system concerning IP address resources. The realization of the present system is achieved with the combination of an overall research program conducted by the China Unicom Co., namely, "Research on the Security of China Unicom Internet".The research target of this thesis is IP address resource management of Shaanxi Unicom Branch Company. On the basis of existing pattern of IP address resources and the basic theories in software engineering, the author of the thesis elaborates on the whole process of the research and development of the present management system of Web-based IP address resources, and then discusses the design of the system framework according to the analysis of the system requirements. A detailed analysis and modeling are conducted by adopting Rational Rose 2003 as tool, object-oriented method and UML, following which is the design of data access strategies and database. With reference to the structure mode of N layer system, in the course of realization, the system is divided into presentation layer, logic business layer, data access layer, and data layer. In addition, there is also the adoption of the integration development environment of Visual Studio .NET, using ASP.NET, Web Service, XML technologies and Language C#. Thus a management system of Web-based IP address resources is developed.With emphasis on the modules of address registration, allocation and address using registration, the present thesis offers a detailed introduction of the process of the system development, in which there is also some discussion concerning some major difficult points and the system security mechanism. Meanwhile, some major algorithms designed in the system, like vacant IP address resources algorithm, mass data pagination, are also analyzed and illustrated.
