As the operation type of the short message service become complex day by day ,the ISMG(Internet Short Message Gateway) came out as the bridge between the SP(Service Provider) and SMSC(Short Messaging Service Centre).On the one hand ,the ISMG get messages from the SMSC ,and send them to the SP in the form of CMPP ,On the other hand ,the ISMG get the messages from the SP ,and send it to the SMSC in the form of SMPP, by which the ISMG can offer a chunnel for the data exchange between the SP and SMSC safely and quickly,at the same time ensure the safety and consistency between them, and to offer the high quality service to the client.This chapter talks mainly about the commucation agent module in the ISMG sytem as the surpported part.First of all,it shows the message about the development of the short message operations,the background of the emergence of the ISMG ,and the functions of the ISMG..Secondly,talks mainly about the importance of the communication agent, main functions,the technical details of the communication agent,which includes the receival of message , disposal of message,the conversion of protocol,distribution of message ,and so on. Finally ,the author give the running result of the communication agent,summarize the practical significance of the communication agent and ISMG.By the way ,the communication agent and the ISMG which is discribed in this chapter have been used in practise,and generated much profit.
