MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service)is one standard mobile messaging service defined by 3GPP and WAP Forum.It is intended to provide a rich set of content to subscribers (pictures, audio, games, etc).On the other hand, The fast development network has brought the huge change for people's life style and the work way, is presented the news transfer mode which is unprecedented convenience and quickly, also may gain a richer splended content from the network, the two union will certainly to impel the MMS service development.This article content is the finding of MMS Communication Platform during graduate student period. As a result of the service need, hoped may be more convenient links up with the customer community, how constructed the communications platform the server and the customer has become the paper research key point. The customer terminal is based on the Web service, the server is constructs through Kannel and the Mbuni gateway, then HttpClient technology is put up the bridge between customer and server.Kannel is an open source WAP gateway, not only can work as WAPgateway, but also works as an SMS gateway for GSM networks, In addition, Kannel operates as Push Proxy Gateway, or PPG .Kannel mainly work as the SMS gateway and the PPG service in this article. Mbuni is open source MMS gateway, utilises Kannel's GWLIB and WAP libraries, it not only can work an MMSC,but also can work an VASP. In using Mbuni services, Kannel working as PPG service is an essential part. This article discussed how to design and the realize the communications platform which is practical and significant. the main content included:Firstly,introduced the history of MMS development, present situation and future.Secondly, introduced the MMS system structure and the principle of work, as well as MMS description language SMIL. The SMIL language may facilitate arrangement audio frequency, picture and writing layout reasonably. In the server, introducted Mbuni and Kannel's system structure in detail and constructed specific service, as well as respective function when work as different role.Finally, from the whole, introduced the entire platform realization frame. Then in detail elaborated HTTPClient, it is puts up bridge between the server and the Web customer.
