Based On The Design Of Handheld Devices, Self-guided Tours

Currently, the city construction has been improved and roads become more and more complex. With the increasing popularity of automobiles, how to select the most appropriate way withquick and accurate arrival time is the problem.Self-guide equipments based on embedded systems such as palm computer are the solution. First of all, embedded GIS research status, technical background and related characteristics and applications are analysed. Then a multi-platform based model and its logical framework des(?), principles and applications are presented, focusing on the analysis of embedded system platform environment models, logical structure and physical organization, and key components for optimization. Finally, example is described.The prototype software could meet the needs.But some other functions including routing and friendly man-machine interface are to be investigated in the future.
