After the second world war, the RADAR has been developed rapidly. There is a great future of the research and development of RADAR due to its more and more applications in both military and civil fields.The subject comes from the cooperation project"X waveband SAR receiver"between Chengdu Sine Science&Technology Ltd. and the UESTC. The auther is responsible for the demonstrability of the RF receiver and the implemetaion of the LNA in the system. The RF receiver consists of RF front end and baseband regulation module. The high-intermediate-frequency superheterodyne structure is adopted in the final scheme. The fine sensitivity of the receiver is achieved by two cascaded LNA in the front of the system. With two cascaded MGC units the receiver gets a high dynamic range while the linearity of the system is well guaranteed.At first, the theory of receiver and the deep analysis of key receiver parameters are introduced in this paper. Then, the demonstrability for the blue print of the RF receiver is represented in detail. Subsequently, the theory of LNA and the popular design methods are introduced. After that, the LNA scheme analysis, implementation of each characteristic and some questions paid more attention to in system design and tuning are discussed in detail. The ultimate testing results of this subject are represented at last.
