With the development of economy and technology, traditional voice and video service cannot satisfy people's requirement now. Network progresses towards multimedia technology synthesis application continuously comprising data, graphics, image, voice, and so on. But the traditional telecommunication networks, CATV network and computer network all faced to special operation. Subscriber can acquire various operations from different service provider. At the same time, repetitious investment and network resource are made because these three networks cannot correspond to each other. The market and the development of technology spur these three networks'combination. But the process of combination is endless. To prolong the life-span of these three networks, sorts of alterations have made these years. Under the background, research on the coaxial cable of the CATV has been made. Firstly, According to the characteristic of the video signal and 10Mbit/s data signal and the problem that these two kinds of signal are transferred by a coaxial-cable, this paper analyses three optional schemes and designs the system in the mass which can transfer these two kinds of signal and analyzes the transmission characteristic of the system.Secondly, this paper has expounded two key parts through which this system can be implemented——the filter which can separate data signal from video signal and the circuit which can realize data signal which is in the same channel transferred bidirectional through coaxial-cable. The design and the test result of these two key parts are analyzed. Otherwise, this paper introduces the concept of the principle signal in the same channel transferred bidirectional and the phasic equalizer.Thirdly, the hardware design of the CPU management system has been made in this paper. The 32 bits S3C4510B base on ARM7TDMI core is chosen as the main control chip for the MAC layer. The RTL8309SB is chosen as the PHY layer .The principle of each functional module is introduced.
