Doppler radar is wide used, which utilizes the Doppler Shift between the target and radar to get the target information and process it. Doppler radar has high performance on differentiating velocity, and it can efficiently solve the interference of the ground clutter to get the target echo from bad environment. But with more complexity of the airborne navigation radar, the maintenance of equipment becomes more difficulty. For the higher accuracy and efficiency to maintenance on radar equipment, the automatic detecting equipments are urgently needed to be developed.According to the requirement of detecting one Doppler radar system, this article discussed how to develop a special ground testing system.Firstly, we described the essential theory of Doppler navigation, analyzed each module of the radar and studied their signal process, then provided the method and steps to test the radar.Secondly, referencing various test technique and developmental trend, we put forward the system structure and hardware framework for the ground testing system, then expatiated how to design each part of it.Thirdly, we introduced the software structure and how to implement and debug the software module.
