At the core of modem enterprises is information. Each day, businesses collect and process large amounts of data — much of which is discarded or ignored, because the organization is unable to extract meaningful information from enormous relational tables.It is in time for Data Warehouse and OLAP theory&technology to occur. Data Warehouse and OLAP theory&technology deal with analysis, which provide an efficient way to extract information.This article has a strong practical background and can be divided into two parts: theoretical part and practical part.In the theoretical part, a list of principles and concepts of OLAP and DW are regarded with respect to differences between OLAP and OLTP. Then, a multiple-dimension database model is presented and also the modelling rules. Convertion rules deals with disagreements among several multiple-dimension database models. Through integration of modelling and coversion rules, we can get a dynamic modelling method.The practical part is mainly based on the designment and implementation of Chinese Tax Administration Information System (CTAIS) .CTAIS adopts ODS technique to store subject data, and exeplores an OLAP tool which is characterized by muliple-dimension analysis ,data drilling faction. |
