The simulation of natural phenomena is an important research field in computer graphics and virtual reality. There are many issues that is worth researching in terms of modeling and rendering anomalous fussy object. Particle System has already obtained abundant achievements in this area, and has been widely used. But due to its limitation on the model, it is necessary to integrate the physics based method for increasing the rendering reality. Meanwhile, the complex model of physics based method always brings difficult solving process, which will certainly decrease the real-time capability. In this paper, we first comprehensively describe the method of creating various natural phenomena, and emphasize on particle system and CFD physics based modeling of flowing water. Based on the idea of Stable Fluid method, the author customizes a swallow equation solver to modeling the height field update of water surface. A simple linear reflection and refraction model are used in the rendering with the multi-texture function in OpenGL. The interaction between drip and surface are also discussed, and a simple collision test model was presented following. In conclusion, this fast and stable method has a good balance in reality and real-time capability.
