Based on the microwave communication, this paper presents the principles and the design of a K-band low noise receiver front-end. The system adopts the superheterodyne structure of two down-conversions, which have the Noise figure of 3dB and maximum Gain of 80dB.In detail, this paper introduces the design principles and design methods of the microwave LNA, microwave mixer and microwave band-pass filter of the first down-conversion mixer circuit. The second down-conversion mixer circuit is achieved by function chips, including the high-IF amplifier, the second mixer and the AGC amplifier, etc. Then we get the whole system by all these modules. Otherwise, the EMC of the receiver system and the testing are presented in the end.Ansoft Serenade and Agilent ADS are used to design, simulate and optimize all the circuits and system. From the results of the testing, we can find that the circuit satisfies the design demands.
