With the rapid development of GPU in recent years, real-time rendering based on GPU comes up as a hot topic for research in computer graphics. The simulation of radar is an important part of the simulation of virtual battlefield and its environment. The real-time computation of blind zone of radar and Radar Cross Section come up as a hot topic for research. In this thesis, the application of real-time rendering based on GPU in RCS and blind zone of radar has been studied.Our research works in this thesis mainly focus on the following two aspects.1. The application of ray tracing on GPU in rapid RCS Prediction.We present an efficient algorithm for rapid Radar Cross Section (RCS) prediction on GPU by using the fundamental of ray tracing and Physical Optics(PO) theory and implement the rapid RCS prediction for complex radar targets which includes reflecting and scattering.2. The application of real-time collision detection on GPU in the research of blind zone of radar.We present an efficient algorithm for the study of blind zone of radar based on the fundamental of collision detection on GPU. By maping the geometry computation of collision detection between radar beems and barrier into programmable GPU to match the parallel architecture of graphics hardware, and producing on the fly the collision detection results via real time rendering. We implement the real time algorithm for the computation of blind zone of radar.
