With railway communication steps to social markets, facing the fast increasing needing of bandwidth communication businesses, the shortcomings of railway communication Arterial transmission net is more and more prominent, such as, little bandwidth capacity, too many network stations, without the unified net management, etc. AH of these facts can't meet the needs of many businesses. Through studying the basic railway communication transmission net— East-north Ring plan, this thesis researches the application of DWDM technology to build the technology ways of high-speed core transmission net technology fast and efficiently, and then to adjust railway modernist development and the demand of broad markets.This thesis introduced the producing background and development condition. Based on the facts of communication net bandwidth crisis, it discussed the necessity of building bandwidth basic transmission net by DWDM technology, showed basic knowledge-main technology of DWDM network, the sorts and characteristics of , optic fiber engineering construction, DWDM typical equipment, network structure and the common principle of building network, etc. Depend on above, it offered the DWDM designable building net plan of East-north Ring.In the building net plan of this thesis, through the research and analysis of network resources and work quality, the specific characters of network covering area, application of existing optic fiber, the construction of network topology and capacity of transmission net were confirmed; according to the businesses demands of nowadays and future, speed-rate classes of Arterial transmission net were confirmed; on a basis of DWDM system design principle, output power of Optical Multiplexer Unit, Optical Amplifier and OIA were confirmed, and the equipment of each terminal station was distribute reasonably.The states of test and operation indicated, DWDM system of Chinese version were reliably, economical and practical, and the arterial transmission rate reached to 16*2.5Gbits/s, and also could update to 32 × 2. 5Gbits/s, it could meet the present and a certain period of future needs of railways communication businesses.
