This thesis proposes the general architecture model sfor the information system designed for fire department, which i dedicated for fire business, suitable for business collaboration and scalable for system extending, based on the analyses and designs of the involved issues, such as business modeling, business regularizing, information standardizing, computing mode and system architecture, in order to be fundamentally helpful in building Fire Information System (FIS).During studying the topic of this thesis, there are several theories, viewpoints and methodologies, such as OOA, XML, Web Services and SOA, on which had been focused in order to meet the requirements of the current situations and future trends of IT development fire departments.Depending on analyzing and abstracting the objects, tasks and the operating system in actual fire business, this thesis proposes the Fire Business Model (FBM), a conceptual model of the actual world of fire business, which is to be used as a common reference for analyzing and designing the information world of fire business, and then, based on this viewpoint, states the designing principle and methods for Classification and Codes of Fire Information, Fire Data Elements and Fire Business Indexes, and proposes the Essential Standards Architecture (ESA) of fire information. The thesis discussed the system goals and technical strategies of FIS and suggested Web Services and SOA as the preferred computing mode and architecture for FIS, according to the developments in business and technology. This thesis then established the General Architectural Model (GAM) of Fire Information System, a conceptual model of the information world of fire business, based on FBM, ESA and the framework of SOA.The thesis describes the key elements and operating system of GAM, especially for the key components, the application platforms and the relationships between the upper business applications. The thesis also introduces the Management Platform of Data Element and Classification and Codes, demonstrates the specific method to manage the essential standards by using XML. In the end, the thesis gives the development strategies of several common application systems. As the outcome of analyzing and designing the FIS, GAM and FBM are matched well with each other; either of them would cover every aspect of business modeling, essential information standardizing, application platform designing and development and deployment of upper business applications. GAM is from the latest technologies, viewpoints and methodologies; it should be the architecture and blueprint of future FIS and should be studied further.
