With the development of computer network rapidly, the network management is more important than ever, Among the network management architectures, SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) plays a significant role. In our country, application of network management is in developing, This article aims at the management of small and middle computer networks, and studies the SNMP framework, the framework of network management and the manner of developing a network management application, and then brings forward a application of network management in a new framework of network management. At first, I study the main parts of SNMP framework, they are SMI, MIB and SNMP. SNMP has three versions , and we study SNMP from V1 to V3. In our country , because the computer network has droped behind , so the network management has droped behind .Most of huge enterprises has foreign product about network management, and the products are costly. So, I bring forward that we must develop our allodial network management productions adopting self-development manner. And then, I analysis the traditonal Client/Server architecture and Web-based centralized architecture using in SNMP, compare their advantages and disadvantages, using traditional architecture to construct SNMP application is expensive to develop and inconvenience to manage and difficult to use. Now, the Web technology is used widely, and The Web-based three—tier centralized architecture, i. e. three—tier B/S architecture, has the advantages which are the disadvantages in Client/Server mentioned above. So, in article, I put forward the new architecture, and the Web-based centralized B/S architecture has a good foreground in medium and small enterprises.Lastly, on the studies and analysis above . I introduce the Web-based...
