With the development of network communications and multimedia technologies, demand for the multimedia-teaching content whitch includes video/audio information increases quickly. Distance learning whitch based on the streaming media technology is a new approach to education. However, the streaming quality is generally unsatisfactory, mainly due to the traditional streaming media system based on C/S framework easily lead to server-based performance bottlenecks, and can not effectively support the large-scale streaming data distribution. In order to improve the QoS of streaming over the Internet, based on the P2P approach streaming media transmission studies have gradually attracted the attention of researchers, and then present based on P2P streaming media distribution network technologies :P2P streaming technologies.The page introduced P2P streaming and its key technologies, PeerStreaming models and architecture , and analysed PeerStreaming components , On the basis of relevant research, design and realization of a based on P2P technology and streaming media technology Network Education System solution.The programme combines the technical advantages of P2P technology and C/S, through centralized polices management nodes and through P2P manner distribute data,and its main features are : 1) easy to manage and control; 2) expansionary good way through P2P distributed data, The more users, distributed sooner.User management component of the system design and realization with Jabber/XMPP protocol, also for the subsequent introduction of instant message lay a good foundation in the system.The design of the Network Education System through the use of application level multicast technology distributing of data implementing a large-scale real-time live, to meet a large number of users real-time viewing video content needs. At the same time the education system to allow users to experience virtual demonstration functional teaching environment through PowerPoint demonstration.
