In computer science domain, the status of software engineering is becoming more and more significant. This thesis discusses the problem of software requirement, which plays an important role in software development process. Nowadays, software developers and users tend to be ignorant of communicating with others, which might lead to a serious result that the product may be not quite fit for the requirement of users and brings a great deal of trouble and waste. Therefore, to improve the quality of the project requirement analysis in the forepart of the development cycle is of great use to reduce repeated work. By controlling the extension of a project and the changing of requirement, achieving the target by proposal is an urgent problem to be resolved in software development.At the beginning, this thesis describes base concepts, main steps, representative characters and key issues in requirement analysis. Then, it discusses the four steps in software analysis, which are requirements capture, requirements analysis, writing documents and review. At the same time, it summarizes the principles and strategies in software requirement management. Lastly, combining with a given project named Parking Meter Network Management System, the thesis puts software requirement analysis principles into practice.
