Application Integration In The Telecom Operations Support Systems

Along with the development of the internet technology and enlargement of enterprises' business scope, the Business and Operation Support System (BOSS) of telecommunication industry must have some new abilities. These abilities include interacting with third party's application software, processing core business workflow automatically, connecting and cooperating with the systems of subsidiary companies, customers, suppliers and partners. BOSS needs an architecture reconstruction in order to have these abilities.This article summarized out all the current problems through analysis of tradtional BOSS. Among them, the most serious problem is short of flexibility and interactive ability.We began to pay attention to a technique named message queue and message middleware technique. This is a good technique in Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) area and can solve all these problems.After search, we found peer-to-peer link was involved in some tradtional techniques. However, they are not good solutions for the reason of bad expansibility and low reusability.To seek a better integration structure for BOSS, the technique of message queue and message middleware was discussed in detail. This technique has an open BUS architecture and supports the Business Process Management (BPM), so it can execute interactions between systems more efficiently. Based on the research of the technique, a new integration solution, iBoss, was proposed in this article. BOSS is a large scale and complex system, and it needs distributed deployment and connections between systems deployed in different regions and having different structure.
