With diversity of application demands, the new protocols and the algorithm have been built up. In network study, it's necessary to analyse and compare the network chararistic and technologies.In experiment ,the researcher need provide the realistic traffic to simulate the real Network environment by the traffic generator.They need to measure Network's chararistic about packet loss rate, transfer delay,delay jitter.With the ongoing increase of Network rate, extension of scale, there is a greatly influence to the internet services providers when they allocate, rebuild, update their resource. They can use traffic generator to provide Network traffic which can satisfy the new application demands. For example ,in order to measure a Qos mechanism's affect, the researcher must provide enough traffic to make the Network congestion ,so that the researcher can get the accurate capability data of device and Network .The data is a reference to Network layout and device update.The thesis firstly analyze the conception of Network flow, and study the method to generate traffic by Network flow. We show the significance of generating traffic by Network flow, in the specially Network. Then we study the method to generator flow which base on special probability distribution. We implement the traffic generator by these studies. The thesis focuses on how to generate abundance flow, how to send flow fastly, how to measure Network, how to synchronize flow sender and flow receiver.We use some solution to resolve the problems, including that using linear congruential and modifying select-giveup algorithm to generate random number, implement class that has good application interface to user, making random number as packet's inter-departure-time and packet size, which can provide flow base on special distribution, designing and implementing a method to active measure by our traffic generator,designing a accurately time counter and precision delay function , synchronizing flow sender and receiver by TGM message. Base on these technology, We design and implement each module. The traffic generator we design is satisfied with the demand of IPNM.
