To test information electronically and automatically in clinical laboratories, a new type of network system named as Laboratory Information Management System (LIS) has begun to appear in many hospitals. Being one of the most important medical instruments in the clinical laboratory, auto chemistry analyzer is demanded increasingly be able to share and exchange informations with the LIS system. However, in our country, no national medical exchange standard has been issued yet. It may be a good choice to employ Health Lever Seven(HL7),an international medical exchange standard. Since differences exist between domestic situation and HL7 standard, many localization problems should be solved before HL7 applyed. On the other hand, most of laboratory instruments in domestic hospitals are not able to exchange and manage the medical message by using HL7, and then it is very necessary to realize the information exchange based on the HL7 under no changing the frame of current laboratory instrument system. Our method focus on how to implement the information exchange between auto chemistry analyzer and LIS system based on the HL7 standard. In this dissertation, firstly, the current situations of medical information exchange were analyzed, included presentations of LIS system and auto chemistry analyzer, HL7 standard and its localization problems. Secondly, based on the application in the BS-300 auto chemistry analyzer, a model of HL7 information exchange was proposed, which included the way of information exchange, the definition of HL7 message and the design of HL7 message parser-builder. Finally, to justify the effectiveness of the module, application programs in the auto chemistry analyzer and programs in the server machine were designed respectively, which were implemented successfully in a domestic hospital.
