Microstrip antenna have been used in many application in recent years due to their inherent advantages like lightweight, thin profile, flexible design and low cost. With the development of microstrip antenna, except for their traditional application people have new requirement , such as low-sidelobe antenna , active integrated antenna ,monopulse-antennas etc. People require not only qualified antenna, but also more efficient design methods. In thesis, some new schemes and ways to improve antenna performance have been proposed. All of them have been verified through the simulation , design and measurement. The main work includes:1. A monopulse antenna has been designed which includes a hybrid-ring and a 2×2 sub-array. In the purpose of enhance the circular polarization, the sub-array have used a phase transfer circuit which made each patch have 90deg phase difference in turn. Matching branches are added to the full array to enhance the bandwidth of the antenna. The measurements accord with design purpose.2. A low-sidelobe antenna array has been designed which includes a one-seven power divider and a 2×1 sub-array. The 2×1 sub-array was the improvement of the 2×2 sub-array. The output power of the one-seven power divider was accorded with the coefficient of the Chebyshev polynomial. The output phase of the divider was almost the same. This dissertation develops two millimeter waves microstrip antenna arrays which can be applied to the millimeter wave radar, the communication and the identification for friend-or-foe. The work has became the good foundation for the later millimeter microstrip antenna research.
