Multimedia Real-time Teaching System Based On Tcp / Ip Implementation Study

With the explosive growth of the increasing demand for multimedia application on the massive fields, transporting real-time multimedia information especial video information over internet has received tremendous attention from academia and industry. Transmission of real-time multimedia information has bandwidth delay and loss requirements. However, there is no quality of service (QoS) guarantee for multimedia transmission over the internet. So there are many issues need to be studied in multimedia real-time transmission over the Internet.The main application of Internet changes from Telnet, Ftp and Web to real time multimedia. Real time multimedia in bandwidth and delay constitutes great challenges to Internet which relies on packet switch technology. Today, though network has improved greatly in calculation speed and transforming bandwidth than the early, network protocol adapt to audio and video has been studied because of the peculiarity of multimedia information.This paper discusses the technology of application of Multimedia Real-Time Mutual Communication and the correlation technology of it, which analyses the technology and implementation of TCP/IP and Compression Technology. Then, this thesis introduces settlement method of Distance Education. Last, the necessity of developing "Multimedia network teaching system" controlled by pure software is described. With the help, multimedia network teaching system is developed by using Delphi program design language. It is a teaching platform, which uses a set of software to realize the instant teaching process transmission by the aid of existing network equipments.The paper mainly includes the following contents:1. The model & implementation program of multimedia network teaching system are put forward through researching multimedia network real time communication technology.2. Fulfill the screen broadcast control of teacher's computer to students' computers. The system can test the online condition of students' computers automatically and realize the function of screen broadcast of teacher's computer.3. Fulfill the remote control of teacher's computer to students' computers. The system realizes remote close, restart and lock of teacher's computer to students' computers using API function under Delphi.4. Fulfill monitor control of teacher's computer to students' computers. The system uses port technique and polling mechanism to implement the function of monitoring students' screen, students' operation demonstration, etc.The system has been used in computer classrooms in Luoyang Normal University. It has been proven to have excellent results.
