Workflow Model Based On Petri Net Research And Applications

The workflow is a kind of computer realization of the business process, which defined what is the business process, how to do and so on. It is very important to find a modeling tool to describe this kind of business process. This paper mainly studied in a modeling tool: Petri net.The Petri net is the mathematical description of the separate, parallel systems. This paper describes the process of workflow based on Petri net theories, introduces a kind of workflow model: workflow net, analyzes the structural correctness of the workflow net. On the basis of analysing WF-net's shortcoming, CPWF-net combining CPN(Colored Petri Net) with WF-net is put forward. Strict definition, enable condition and trigger rule of CPWF-net are given, and the new characteristics brought in workflow modeling are analysed in detail.The application of Petri net theories in the creation of the missive management workflow model is discussed. A missive management Petri Nets model is created and analyzed. The application indicated that the process modeling based on the Petri net, not only can describe the business process, but also can avoid the conflict and the deadlock.
