Design And Implementation Of A Configurable Lcd Display Controller

Middle and big inch screen LCD has become an important part of our life as the improving of our life and the continue progressing of LCD manufacture technology. Under the condition, high differentiate-rate and configurable LCD controller would to be the developmental focus of big inch screen LCD controller in the feature.A type of flexible configurable LCD controller was designed in the paper based on the project that the author participated in. The following is the main works:Firstly, the interface part, the digit dealing part which completed the especial displaying and the output controlled part were analyzed in the paper. A design plan of WCF160 LCD was put forward in the paper.Secondly, the interface module was accomplished in the thesis.This type of interface support AMBA bus protocol. DMA interface was also integrated in the interface module. Users can set the differentiate-rate and the display timing parameter by reconfigure internal registers of LCD controller.Thirdly, the digit dealing module was accomplished, which achieved the TV format signal displaying and the multiplayer images overlap displaying.Fourth, the image display controlling module was finished, which can meet the displaying need of many kinds of LCD by configuring different parameters.In the end, the WCF160 LCD controller was implemented by Verilog Hardware Language. Its simulation and verification was also finished by Verilog. The results showed that all of the WCF160 LCD targets were satisfied.The research of WCF160 LCD controller would benefit to develop the homothetic LCD controller. It can also benefit to promote the wide range application of big inch LCD production.
