Magnetic heading measure system(MHMS) or electric magnetic compass is an essential device used to measure the heading of ships, land vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV). This paper studies a kind of MHMS which uses FPGA to compute the heading of UAV. It has higher computing speed and good anti-jamming property.We design a digital processing circuit of compute the heading of magnetic, it including adder module, multiplier module, divider module, anti-tangent function module and sin/cos function module. The Ripple-Carry Adders is orderliness in configuration. Adopted booth arithmetic to design multiplication module. In the anti-tangent module design we adopted the arithmetic of linear interpolation, it can realize complicated function and get the satisfying precision. Adopted Cordic arithmetic to design sin/cos function module, this arithmetic can realizated easily in digital circuit. For validate the function of the circuit of the heading of magnetic, we design a validate systemt that including the circuit of data input and the display circuit of data output. We design a UART to receive the data that output from PC.and we also design a display circuit to display the data of output.All modules adopting the VHDL language proceeding source code writing. Then, writing test bench to produce input signal for all modules and total proceeding functions of documents on function simulation and analysis. The simulation result shows that the MHMS can be realized easily with satisfied result with FPGA.
