This paper introduces a kind of magnetic heading system, composed of fluxgate magnetometers and microcontroller. The system that is based on ellipse hypothesis can implement functions of the automatic compensation and auto-calibration process. Compared with traditional methods, the system can greatly reduces workload and require for instruments during the debug. It greatly adapts to work environment that varieties frequently and is very simple. Furthermore, it is has advantage of smaller volume, less weight, higher precision and lower price, so it can be used in small aircrafts, cars, ships and other land vehicles. In the first parts of article, author introduces structure and function of hardware and theory of ellipse system hypothesis .On the base of these ,author gives emphasis to software design ,discussed how to layout ,design and verify programs .And the processes of automatic compensation and auto-calibration also were related . At last, Experimental data show, under condition of no gradienter , no computer(with related software) and no electronic circuit, the automatic compensation and auto-calibration of the process can be realized easily with satisfied compensation result...
