Tinyos-based Wireless Sensor Network Routing Protocol Design And Implementation

With the development of sensors technology, Micro-Electro-Mechanism System (MEMS), modern networks and wireless communication technology, wireless sensor network (WSN) comes out and develops gradually. WSN is a self-organized network, which is formed of a large number of cheap micro sensor nodes deployed around the detected areas by wireless communication. WSN can gain physical information successfully. And it is applied in many areas including environment detecting, medical treatment guarding, city traffic management, storage management and military affairs reconnaissance.Efficient and reliable routing protocols are the foundation of WSN. After the deep research of the typical protocols, this paper brings forward a protocol named CMR (Cluster_based Multihop Routing).The basic thinking of the algorithm is to prolong the lifetime of WSN, which is on the basis of the dynamic election of cluster head, the rebuilding of cluster, and the energy control. The election of cluster not based upon the time synchronization and the mechanism of self-healing, are important features of the algorithm. Because of taking into account the election of cluster heads and the rebuilding of clusters, the algorithm have a good support to the dynamic cluster organization protocols, and is adapted to the trend of dynamic cluster-based network protocol design of WSN in the world.The design and work process of CMR are analyzed and discussed, which includes election of cluster head/cluster building, the rebuilding of cluster/self-healing mechanism, the energy control processes, and the connectivity analysis, the building and maintenance of routings, the link quality evaluation between adjacent clusters. In addition, CMR is implemented in TinyOS. After that CMR is tested and analyed. Finally, the conclusions and directions of research in this area are introduced.
