This thesis focuses on a 3D interactive garment design system. A model-based approach is studied for 3D human body reconstruction from a set of specific person images. A generic 3D model represents 3D structure information. The shape of a specific person is captured by mapping 2D silhouette information from the orthogonal view images onto the generic 3D model. This results in the 3D approximate model of an individual. In this work, we have adopted the draft specification of the VRML Humanoid Animation Working Group(H-Anim) which defines a humanoid model structure which can be viewed using any VRML-2 compliant browser. Besides, this article uses partiton-based dynamic simulation method to model garment draping in order to reduce the impeding computational time.
