With the increasingly extensive and in-depth application of quantitative Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images, SAR calibration became a necessary technique in modern spaceborne SAR remote sensing. Calibration processing is one of the key parts of SAR calibration system, responsible for the processing of both internal and external calibration data. Thus, research on spaceborne SAR calibration processing system will be of theoretical significance and of practical worth.SAR calibration processing software is a complicated and abroad system, involving data processing, parameter extraction and flexible Graphic User Interface. Introducing the thought of software engineering, my paper has done some research on SAR calibration processing software.Firstly, depending on the need of convenient operation and usage, technique requirements of software are established.Moreover, making reference to foreign experiences and considering our practical application, algorithms such as vertical two-way antenna pattern by method of reflectors, vertical two-way antenna pattern by method of distribute target, transmitting 2-D antenna pattern by method of ground receivers, and calibration constant measurement are studied. Particularly, effect of transponder time delay on point target response is discussed and its error model is established.Additionally, based on the principles of model independence and top-bottom design, software is divided into hierarchical-structure models, each of which is detailedly described. Besides, external interface of software is established, and with aim of flexible operation, calibration processing flow and GUI are designed.Finally, some software GUI and test results using simulated data under the environment of Visual C++ are presented, which indicate that SAR calibration processing software could meet the practical needs.
