The technique of laser transformation hardening plays the more and more vital role in the industry. In recent years, it develops very fast, while there is still some problems which need to be solved.The processing data of laser hardening is very important to the manufacture. Using what kind of process and parameter will directly affect the quality of the laser hardening. Based on the theory of relation database and technique of ADO, the author has built a relation database system to laser hardening. The system provides information on materials, parts, processing and so on, which gives us a reference to manufacture and further research work.According to the difference of geometrical parameters, the author has developed an auto-programming module on the basis of the database. Utilizing the database, It can produce the laser hardening program automatically, thus the productivity can be increased greatly, and the time used on programming can also be shortened greatly. The processing of gear laser hardening has been developed very well, so the thesis puts the emphases on the realization of auto-programming of gear laser hardening.It is important to obtain a uniform hardened case in our research and manufacture. However the commonly used rectangular beam will easily forms uneven hardened case, which is thin on the side and thick on the middle, this will affect the quality of laser hardening. The technique of using curved rectangular beam in laser hardening is put forward in terms of the theoretical simulation, it is proved that, the hardened case produced by this kind of beam is more uniform than that produced by rectangular beam.
