Digital instructional resources is now more and more popular with thedevelopment and application of computer, network and multimedia technology. It has been an urgent need for the high grade digital instructional resources.Shandong Jiaotong University is focused on the majors of transportation.During the past few years, the technology faculty and professional teachers ofShandong Jiaotong University have been working on the digital instructionalresources. The courses system has been set up and applied in the practicalteaching. The technological teachers have accumulated the practice experienceand made progress in projecting the digital instructional resources. The writer ofthe thesis has been working at Shandong Jiaotong University and participated inthis project and undertook the projecting and developing of the program TheEngine Principle, which is part of the construction project of the NationalEducation Administration New Century Web-based Course. Following theexample of Web-based course applied in mobiles, The Engine Principle, thewriter did the further study in the development and application of digitalinstructional resources. The application of digital instructional resources hasbeen a valuable try for the reform of the college teaching pattern and haseventually helped to push on the popularization of high education as practicevalue and guiding directions. The thesis is contented with four parts. The first part is on the domination ofdigital instructional resources. The digital instructional resources refers to theteaching instructional resources developed and designed on the base of computertechnology and transmitted by digital information environment. It has includedthe course software( mainly the multimedia course) , network instructionalresources (instructional resources on line, monographic study website or subjectwebsite, web-based course), study resource reference. The analysis on thepresent development of the digital instructional resourcesThe second part of the thesis is for the theory of projecting practical digitalinstructional resources and its application. This guiding theory is focused on theindividualized learning, discovery learning and instructional design. The writerhas done a large amount of research in reference materials, practice examplesand comparison analysis. The introduction on the technology of projectingdigital instructional resources is explained in this part, including the webpagemaking, streaming media, program composition, and photograph procession. These fundamentals and technology has been the guiding lines for projecting thenetwork course The Engine Principle as well as the reference for other digitalinstructional resources setting up.The third part is the research on the process of projecting digital instructionalresources based on the fundamentals and technology of digital instructionalresources designing. There are three ways of projecting the digital instructionalresources, which are digitalization reform on the present teaching resource, electronic product created by teachers and students, the course designed byprofessional researchers. The principals need to be obeyed in designing digitalinstructional resources, including basing on the need of students andstudent-centered learning, flexibility and cooperativeness. The Engine Principlenet course is the specific course created by professionals. The thesis hasexplained the whole planning process detaily from instructional design andcourse making. The last section of the thesis is on the application of digital instructionalresources. The writer and the subject team have done the experiment on thecampus net. The class on line is available for students at any places and any time, since the campus net is reachable. The students can do the self study on lineaccording to their own instructions. The application way and the effected of thedigital instructional resources on campus network have been explained.
