Section is one of the basic elements of newspaper, constructing the basal modality of newspaper with news, commentary and advertisement. However the scholar and the stuff of media had neglected the function of the section in the past. With the development of the competition of city paper in those days, the function of the section has been regarded again. But there still are many diverge of the section, such as the conception and the origin of the section. The reason that lead to such diverges is mainly the lacking of the review of the section's history. How did the section originate and develop was still hang in doubt.As one of the most outstanding newspaper in modern times, Shun Pao is always the hotspot of the journalism history for the scholar. However, they focus on the advertisement marking, news handling and media image of Shun Pao, paying little attention to the section of Shun Pao. Basing on the development of modern journalism, this dissertation tries to analyze the evolvement of the inner modality of Shun Pao's section.This dissertation samples the representative section of Shun Pao, following the development of Shun Pao itself to construe the transforming of the inner modality of Shun Pao's section. Meanwhile, summarize the characters and the developing trend of Shun Pao's section in different of times. After that, this dissertation induces the impetuses that impel the transform of the inner modality of Shun Pao's section.
