Design And Implementation Of The Courier Industry Globalization Solutions

With the development of the economic and information technology, e-business gradually becomes the trend in nowdays trade. Express industry, as a new form of industry, is especially rappidly developed. Its requirement for informantion process is higher and higher. But the process systems of express industry can' t meet the requirement of this industry, and they always have problems such as low response, lack of mechanism to ensure accurate dilivery and lack of globalization support. OGED project is developed by IBM Shanghai Global Laboratory. It provides a global solution for express industry. It provides lots of functions to help automate business process, short the shipment pick-up and response time, and enhance the internal collaboration.The writer based on the development practice of OGED project, analyzed the present situation and development trend of express industry, brought up detail design and solution, used IBM WebSphere Everyplace Mobile Portal to implement multi-device access to external web site, used IBM Workplace collaboration ability to provide an efficient and convenient collaboration platform, used RFID technology to achieve automation of shipment dilivery, introduced single executable principle and Global Business Object, and implement software globalization for the system. This thesis describes the design and implementation on OGED project. At last, it analyzes shortcomings in OGED project practice, and points the feature directions of research.
