Iris Localization And Recognition Algorithm

Iris identification technology is a kind of biometric recognition technology that develops very fast for present time. It has been a promising biometric recognition technology because of its unique, stable, convenient and reliable features.In the first chapter of this paper, some kinds of biometric recognition technology are introduced firstly, then the development and the situation of the iris recognition technology are introduced. In the second chapter of the paper, the structure of iris is stated. The structure of the iris recognition system is simply introduced in the third chapter. In the forth chapter of the paper, the algorithm of location is researched deeply, which is an important step of the iris recognition. Finally, because the feature extraction and the pattern match are another important step of the iris recognition, the algorithm of iris recognition has been also researched deeply in the fifth chapter of the paper.In the research of the iris location algorithm, a new location method is put forward base on previous researches. Compared with tradition algorithm of location, it is able to carry out fast iris location and overcome the question of slow speed, which results from Hough transformation or Edge detection directly. So, it improves the iris recognition speed . After obtaining the required image of iris, a series of approaches have been adopted to rectify the image in this paper, which eliminate the influence on iris image due to the contraction of pupil, the distance to video camera and the ill-distributed light.Finally, the achievements of this paper are concluded, and some expectations of the future research work are proposed.
