Biometric recognition is a common and reliable way to authenticate the identity of a living person based on physiological or behavioral characteristics. Moreover, there doesn't exist the problems of forgetting the password or losing the certificates, so it is highly reliable and safe.The biomedical literature suggests that similar to fingerprints, irises possess distinct feature for uniquely identifying a person. The very special structure possessed by iris provides the iris identification with excelsior accuracy. In addition, because of the multitude biomedical recognition, the identification system integrated with many characteristics has been studied. So here I continue to study the face detection in the complex background. This paper elucidates the principles and the typical structure of Iris-Identification System and the study of face detection in the complex background.A personal identification system based on iris pattern is composed of iris image acquisition, image preprocessing, feature extraction and matching. Others' algorithms of iris location are studied and the deficiencies in them are pointed. Considered the brim character and Hough transform, two different location methods are put forward. Iris feature extraction is based on texture analysis using multi-channel Gabor-wavelet filtering. Compared with existing methods, our method employs the rich 2-D information of the iris structure, and it brings forward the optimized iris location and feature extraction algorithm.The second part presents the face detection in complex background. The face segmentation based on skin color is employed. Considered the nonlinearity between chroma and luminance of skin color, A skin color detecting algorithm under variant light condition is presented.
